Orphans To Rescue
Our current initiatives are fleshed out on three fronts; orphans and children to rescue, sisters to come alongside and nations to believe in.
A large part of our mandate as a Colour Sisterhood is to take care of the orphans and children. As at March 2010 this is being outworked through our partnership with Watoto, Compassion and Vision Rescue
Our partnership with Compassion is celebrating our 11th year at Colour 2010 with over 6000 children sponsored through the Colour conference globally.
Our partnership with Watoto is continually expanding as we forge new paths with our friends the Skinners who are taking ground in Uganda. Our intention is to provide and exemplify a united, cohesive and holistic SOLUTION to some of the key issues facing the children and women of Uganda. This is being outworked through our partnership to build a village in Gulu to become home for many rescued and escaped war effected children including child soldiers.
At Colour 2009 we launched a new partnership with Vision Rescue based in Mumbai, India. They work with the street children, providing meals and education for hundreds of children every day. A pressing need for them was a hygenic kitchen where they can prepare the food for these and thousands more that need someone to rescue them. As a Sisterhood we raised the funds for this in 2009 and have the great praise report that this has now been completed and renovated ready to use!
