Over the last year, the Colour Sisterhood has been able to fund the building of 8 homes in 3 children’s villages in Uganda.
The response from partners around the world to build homes in Watoto villages has been so overwhelming.
The Need
Watoto provides an inspiring and unique model for caring for orphans and vulnerable women within their community. The Watoto model involves physical and emotional care, medical intervention including HIV/AIDS treatment, education – formal and technical, trauma counselling and spiritual discipleship.
Through sponsorship Watoto are currently caring for 2 290 orphaned and vulnerable children in 3 villages throughout Uganda. Watoto have recently announced the opening of Watoto Cape Town!
Our Response
Over the last year, the Colour Sisterhood has been able to fund the building of 8 homes in 3 children’s villages in Uganda. The response from partners around the world to build homes in Watoto villages has been so overwhelming that Child Care sponsorship, which funds the day-to-day running costs, has been unable to keep up with the amazing growth in houses built.
Watoto has made a decision to hold back on the building of any further new homes until they have been able to catch up with filling existing ones. We are so grateful for the amazing support that that you have provided in funding new homes for children in the Watoto villages.
